Iran and Israel Exchange Heavy Strikes as Regional Tensions Soar

Tensions between Iran and Israel reached a critical point tonight as both countries launched direct military attacks against each other, marking one of the most intense confrontations in years.

Iran fired a wave of ballistic missiles toward major Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. The attack was reportedly in response to Israel’s recent strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and military command centers. Several of the missiles were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome system, but some caused damage and civilian casualties. Local authorities confirmed at least three people killed and dozens injured.

In retaliation, the Israeli Air Force launched a coordinated series of airstrikes targeting Iranian military and strategic facilities, including sites near Isfahan and Tehran. Among the targets were nuclear-related locations and bases belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Unconfirmed reports suggest the attacks resulted in the deaths of multiple senior Iranian officials and widespread infrastructure damage.

The United States confirmed that its forces helped intercept some of the missiles aimed at Israel but emphasized that it is not participating in offensive operations. Meanwhile, multiple international airlines rerouted flights across the region, and some countries closed their airspace due to security concerns.

Global leaders have called for immediate de-escalation. The United Nations, European Union, and various governments including the UK and China have urged both sides to exercise restraint and avoid further violence.

This exchange marks a dangerous new phase in the long-standing rivalry between Iran and Israel and raises fears of a broader regional conflict that could involve neighboring countries and global powers.
